A Guilford man accused of murdering his adopted son has asked for a bail reduction. According to court papers attorneys for Ernest Franklin II is seeking a reduction from $125,000 cash or $250,000 bond to $40,000 cash. Prosecutors say Franklin and his wife Heather killed the 16-year-old boy in February and covered it up by starting their home on fire. Heather Franklin posted bail earlier this year. Trial for the Franklins is expected to start early next year.
