Governor Cuomo Making Announcement at New York State Fair

Will the New York State Fair be back in 2021? We may find out today.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is expected to make an announcement from the New York State fairgrounds at 11:30 this morning. But there's no word on what that announcement may be.

The press conference will be open to the press for the first time since December, according to Syracuse.com. The Governor has been taking questions by phone for video conferencing for months.

The New York State Fair had to be canceled in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. The fate of the fair in 2021 is still up in the air but according to the fair website, it's already scheduled. "We hope to see you this year... August 20 - September 6, 2021."

The key word is "HOPE" to see you this year.

Even though there's been no official word, fair officials are looking for fun, new, and different items, foods and services that can be offered to Fairgoers.

The process is very competitive. Each year we receive hundreds of applications for a very limited number of licensing opportunities. The New York State Fair does not maintain a waiting list. As licensing opportunities become available, appropriate license registrations will be selected from the pool of registrations submitted.

Venders must complete and submit an online concessionaire/exhibitor space application and include photos of the products or descriptions of the services they'll be offering as well as a layout and photos of what the vendor space or concession trailer will look like. The application process takes 10-15 minutes to complete and requires a $25 non-refundable processing fee.
