New York State Police and local law enforcement are increasing patrols to crack down on impaired driving and underage drinking during Halloween week. Troopers will be highly visible and on the lookout for impaired and reckless drivers both in traffic and at sobriety checkpoints. Officers will also search for distracted drivers and those not moving over for emergency and hazard vehicles stopped on the side of the road. The enhanced patrols run through Friday.
