Explosions to Destroy Old Tappan Zee Bridge on Saturday
Controlled explosions will bring down the historic Tappan Zee Bridge on Saturday morning January 12, 2018.
The 63-year old bridge, which crosses the Hudson River, will come down at 9:30 AM. Sections of the New York State Thruway between Rockland and Westchester counties will be closed during the 45-minute demolition event.
The bridge will be replaced by the newly completed Mario Cuomo Memorial Bridge at the same location.
