Despite Morning Chill Helios Care Daffodil Brunch Big Success
Despite some light snow and chilly morning temperatures, Helios Care staff and volunteers put on another very successful Daffodil Jazz Brunch at the beautiful home of Tom Morgan and Erna McReynolds on a hilltop just outside of Franklin this past Sunday. The couple has been donating their property for the hospice brunch for several years now and talk about not only a feast for those with an appetite for delicious food, but quite the feast for the eyes as well.
My husband and I attended the event as part of our 26th wedding anniversary celebration, a real treat for us considering that for our silver anniversary last year, we were home bound during the pandemic - a real disappointment for such a milestone reached. Needless to say, we were ready to get out and enjoy something special together and it did not disappoint.
The Daffodil Jazz Brunch is one of Helios Care's biggest annual fundraisers and like so many non-profits, the organization has had to think of new ways of holding fundraising events that were either no-risk or low-risk. After all, Helios Care would not be able to provide all the services they provide without a good amount of public funding. Fortunately with New York State COVID guidelines easing, Helios Care was able to put on a wonderful Daffodil Jazz Brunch outside under a tent with heaters that was very enjoyable.
Alicia Fish, Helios Care Director of Development and Marketing shared with me that the Daffodil Jazz Brunch this year was a sold out event that raised a total of over $35,000 minus expenses for that event. Helios Care thanks everyone who came out to the brunch or donated their time to help put it on.
