A Delhi girl receives recognition for her lifesaving actions in May at a camp for disabled adults. The Delhi Fire Department says Kayleigh Verspoor rescued two canoeists from a Haven Camp lake after it capsized. While both people had flotation devices neither could swim so the Delaware Academy junior jumped in the water and got them to safety. This week the fire department gave Kayliegh a plaque as an award for her actions. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department gave her its Superstar Award.
