A Delaware County community action agency, Delaware Opportunities will receive a federal grant to pay for its Head Start programs. Last week U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced Delaware Opportunities, Inc. received the $1.06 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services which will be used to support child care services for low-income families in the Southern Tier Region.

Head Start provides comprehensive child development programs for low-income children along with supports and services for their families.
