Dan Elwood Memorial 5k Run/Walk to Coincide with General Clinton Canoe Regatta

Thousands will converge on general Clinton Park this weekend for the annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta..

Along with the canoe races, Hospice of Chenango County will hold its 6th annual Dan Elwood Memorial Day 5k run/walk.

The walk was organized by Brenda parsons, a 1980 classmate of Dan Elwood, to remember him and thank Hospice for his care.

Elwood was a healthy, active individual in the fall of 2007, but a short time later was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. The cancer took his life in less than 6 months.

The Dan Elwood run/walk will kick off Saturday in General Clinton Park at 9 a.m.

Registration is $15 in advance, or you can register at the event Saturday before the run at 7:30 a.m.
