Here's an UPDATE from the New York State Police Troop G this morning on this case:

State Police confirm Timothy J. Oldorff, 50, of Cobleskill, is the victim in Thursday’s homicide in Cobleskill.

New York State Police have reported that a 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with an attempted homicide (current charges) yesterday in the town of Cobleskill.  Police responded to a residence at 435 Lamont District Road in Cobleskill at 12:45 p.m. yesterday and found the 50-year-old victim with a gun shot wound to the back of the head.  The unidentified male later died as a result of his injuries.  Police have not released any names, weapon or motive at this time.

The 17-year-old has been remanded to the Schoharie County Jail and is currently charged with Assault 1st degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. Additional charges may be pending. The incident remains under investigation.
