Five cats are now being cared for by the Chenango SPCA in Norwich after their owner dumped them in the parking lot on Tuesday. Shelter personnel say the three adult cats and two kittens were in a crate left between two parked cars. The shelter is already at capacity so it now has a waiting list for surrendering animals. There is also a need for foster families who can home cats until they find their forever homes.

A statement on the SPCA's Facebook page says:  "These cats/kittens were crammed into a single crate and abandoned in our parking lot. There is no reason for this ever to happen. Luckily one of our staff was coming in or they may have been out there until we closed up and went to our cars, of course they had no food or water with them."
