An Otsego County Court judge has sentenced Anthony C. Schorer to 10 years probation.

Robert Ainsley has been appointed the next artistic and general director of the Glimmerglass Festival.

Jeffrey A. McGough, 18, turned himself into to state police this week. McGough is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Connor Delaney in the Town of Richmondville.

This Saturday, May 21st will be the first of five scheduled fly-in breakfast fundraisers for the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department.

Otsego County District Attorney John Muehl says Bradley C. Cook of Oneonta, 21, is facing up to 50 years in prison following his conviction of multiple sex crimes against a child. According to Muehl, a jury found Cook guilty of engaging in sex acts on two occasions with a child younger than 11 years old.

Federal authorities say 42 year-old Jeremie Hoyt of Davenport has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges. Hoyt admitted in court that he made and distributed a video of a child engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Hoyt remains locked up and is facing at least 15 years to 110 years in prison.

New York State troopers arrested Kenneth A. Carson, 37, on April 10th and charged him with multiple felonies. He allegedly attempted a break-in of a Springfield home. An investigation found Carson in possession of “ghost” guns, weapons without serial numbers, a home-made machine gun, and other weapons.

During April, NYSP will be participating in National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The crackdown will include increased patrol and checkpoints targeting drivers using electronic devices. The enhanced enforcement will run through April 11th.

New York State Police are asking the public to help locate Jeffrey A. McGough, 18, of Schenectady. McGough is wanted on the charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Connor Delaney in late January.

NYS is observing the 26th annual Maple Weekend at farms throughout the region. Funded by the state department of Agriculture and Markets, Maple Weekend gives the public an opportunity to learn about the maple sugar making processes.
