Binghamton Rally Calls for DEC Decision on Fracking

Over 150 local union laborers rallied in Binghamton with one message last week: ‘It’s time for new jobs; it’s time for new economic growth; it’s time for safe natural gas drilling."

Senator Tom Libous joined county executive Debbie Preston, Assemblyman Cliff Crouch and local union leaders to ask Governor Andrew Cuomo and the Department of Environmental Conservation to move forward with a decision before the DEC deadline for its environmental review at the end of the month.

Missing the deadline would create a new comment period and extend the review further.
