Big Chuck, the host of Townsquare Media's"Morning Marathon," has announced that his show will play all Christmas music for the month of December.  His show airs on WDOS (AM 730; Oneonta), WCHN (AM 970; Norwich) and WDLA (AM 1270;Walton) every Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 10:00 am.

"In previous years as the season rolls around we start adding Christmas music into our regular format  starting December 1.  This year is different.  We will be wall-to-wall Christmas music starting December 1 and going through every weekday until Christmas Day."  Big Chuck said.

"We made the decision for several reasons.  This has been such a troubling year with the pandemic and all that we thought everybody could use a "super boost" of cheer.  People are sick, working from home, learning from home, out of work, uncertain abut the future and winter is coming with cold temperatures and its getting dark out early.  Nerves were frayed by a contentious presidential election, too.  So why not lighten it up a little?

"One other reason is that our station and in fact our community lost a man this year who personified the spirit of Christmas.  John Hayen, a longtime employee of our station and well-known Oneontan,  passed away too soon and in his memory we thought we would carry on his good cheer and love for Christmas with this sounds of the season musical tribute to him.

You will hear all your old favorites like Bing  Crosby, Frank Sinatra, The Carpenters, Dolly Parton, Nat King Cole, Burl Ives, Kate Smith, Tony Bennett, Kenny Rogers and many others.  Plus some new holiday tunes, too."

We hope you will tune in for our John Hayen's "Sounds of the Season" Christmas music roll out on December 1 at 6:00 am.
