The Bassett Research Institute at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown is launching a program to improve the health of children in upstate New York.

The program is called “Let’s Go 5-2-1-0”, and will be piloted in two communities. If successful, it will expand to include other communities in the region.

The 5-2-1-0 program engages schools, work sites, health care providers, and community, preschool and after-school programs in promoting these healthy choices for kids:

  • 5 or more fruits and vegetables
  • 2 hours or less of recreational screen time
  • 1 hour or more of physical activity
  • 0 sugary drinks, more water and low fat milk

The two communities where this will be piloted are Edmeston and Delhi.
