Baseball Hall of Fame Moves 2020 Induction Date

Ever since 1960, The National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum has been holding their Induction ceremony. Last year was the only time that event has ever been cancelled!  Baseball fans were devastated by not being able to come to Cooperstown and enjoy that event, however, take heart baseball fans. The 2020 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will happen after all. the Baseball Hall has moved the event which has drawn as many as over 55,000 baseball fans to the event in Cooperstown, to September 8.

In a release from the HOF, Jane Forbes Clark who is the Chairman of that organization, states that the ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. on September 8 with a limited crowd, outside on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center. The event will be broadcast on the MLB Network for viewers who can't attend.

This upcoming ceremony will pay homage to baseball greats inducted into the HOF for 2020: Derek Jeter, Marvin Miller, Ted Simmons and Larry Walker since no one was inducted into the Hall for 2021.

Who can attend the Induction?

Tickets for lawn seating will be doled out fans for free at baseballhall.org/hof2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. on July 12. There will be two designated seating areas: one for those vaccinated for COVID-19 and one section for non-vaccinated fans.

The actual presentation of the awards for the induction will happen on July 24, prior to the September 8 public ceremony. This presentation will be indoors with only award winners and their representatives present. It will be televised for viewers.
