But today, Cano silenced his doubters for now by blasting a pair of homers, along with a double and four runs scored, as the Yankees blew out the Cleveland Indians 11-6.

You could argue that if you were to give a theme to the 2013 season for the New York Yankees, it would probably be "the good, the bad and the ugly." This afternoon's game at Comerica Park in Detroit was a perfect example of that theme, as the Yankees dropped the opener of a three-game set to the Tigers, by a score of 8-3.

CC Sabathia struggled through his first 5 innings of the 2013 MLB regular season, allowing four runs and walking four batters. His pitching line was just a small example of a painful start to the season, with very few bright spots from the entire team. For the first time since 1986, the New York Yankees lost a home game on Opening Day, going down the Boston Red Sox 8-2 in the Bronx.
