When Is a Hardware Store a Destination? When It’s In Old Forge!

The Old Forge Hardware Store is amazing.  Did you ever imagine you would visit a hardware store that was an icon?  A legend?  Well, thousands visit this store in the heart of Old Forge, NY (Herkimer County) every year.  The village itself has less than 500 permanent residents.  But, brother, in the summertime...stand back. 

The whole High Peaks lake area comes alive with thousands of campers, vacationers, water park families, and tourists passing through this beautiful Adirondack wonderland. For sure, one of the main attractions in Old Forge is the huge Enchanted Forest Water Safari amusement park. After all, it is the largest water park in the state of New York!
