After the all-time saves leader visited the National Baseball Hall of Fame In Cooperstown last week, it was another closer's turn that once held that record. New York Yankees great Mariano Rivera who has 652 career saves toured the Hall last week and on Tuesday it was Lee Smith taking in the sights at the Hall. Lee Smith told many stories about baseball greats Tuesday to the media in attendance but when it comes to himself he says dependable, that's how he would describe Lee Smith the baseball player. The former Cubs great was elected to the Hall along with Slugger Harold Baines by Today's Modern Game Era Committee. The 18 year MLB veteran once held the record for most saves in a career at 478. The 2019 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday July 21st at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown.
