14,000 Driving Tickets Issued During Work Zone Crackdown

Over 14,000 tickets were issued during last month’s “Operation Work Brake,” a yearly campaign conducted statewide to raise awareness of the dangers of reckless driving in work zones at the start of highway construction season. Enforcement efforts were expanded to include NYS Department of Transportation work zones around the state.
The bulk of those tickets were for speeding followed by distracted driving and violations of the move over law.
