Woman Gives Birth at Penn Station
NEW YORK (AP) — Little Oscar Aguirre was born to be a commuter.
The baby boy was born at New York's Pennsylvania Station Wednesday morning, surprising his expecting mom as she waited for her Long Island-bound train.
Ana Aguirre told the Daily News her 6-pound, 12-ounce bundle of joy was perfect. The 32-year-old mom was expecting to give birth any day. But it wasn't until she stood at the platform waiting for a LIRR train to Centereach that she began to feel labor pains.
Two MTA police officers rushed Aguirre to a district office where they helped waiting paramedics deliver the newborn.
