If you live in Upstate New York, then you well know that winter is looooong!  Everybody complains about the deep freeze of it all, the snow, and the lack of sunlight.  It's easy to get the winter blues.  That's why years ago, I decided to embrace winter and enjoy it as much as possible.  It's that old mentality, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em".

So, feeling cooped up this past Saturday, I headed out of Oneonta to enjoy a walk in the great outdoors at Gilbert Lake State Park.  I've always enjoyed spending time there over the years and it's just as pretty in the winter as it is in the summer.  Take a look below at the beauty I rediscovered there.

One of my favorite things to do is hike.
