I was talking about candy apples today.  Do people still give them out at Halloween?  It seems we all just go out and buy those jumbo bags of mini-candy bars to hand out by the fistful now.  But back in the day, when I was a kid trick or treating in Sidney in the late 1950s and early 1960s, we knew which house had candy apples.  And we made a beeline for that house before they ran out.

There was a little grocery store in Sidney called Logan's.  The owners wife made candy apples by the trayfull for all the trick or treaters on Halloween.  As I was talking about them this morning on my show I just couldn't help but go back in my mind to those wonderful Halloween days of my youth and Mrs. Logan's scrumptious candy apples.
