The Walton Central School District earned a bronze medal in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 list of the best high schools in the nation.

The recently released list recognized nearly 6,000 of the more than 20,500 public high schools across the country. Those schools that scored a gold or silver medal were ranked. Bronze medalists were not ranked, rather listed.

Bronze medalists were schools that were high-performing in regard to state exam performance. Schools needed to have a graduation rate of at least 80 percent to make the cut.
