Varsity Basketball This Weekend: Norwich Vs. Oneonta Showdown!

This Saturday March 1st, Oneonta and Norwich High School varsity basketball teams will go head-to-head for the Class B Section 4 Championship.

Oneonta Girls, seeded #1 and ranked #1 in the state, will take on the Norwich girls, seeded #2, at 5:15 in the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The winner of this game will play the champions of Section 3.

Then the #1 seeded Norwich Boys, undefeated this season and ranked third in the state, will face off against the #2 seeded Oneonta Boys at 7:00 pm in the same venue. Again, the winner will face the Section 3 champs.

As always, WZOZ‘s John Hayen will call both games alongside his broadcast partner, Vince Foti. The games will be aired on WZOZ 103.1 FM in Oneonta and on CHN 970 AM in Norwich. It promises to be two exciting match-ups between fierce rivals. Oneonta fans will have to step up their game to match the enthusiasm of the Norwich fan section, fresh off their victory in the statewide ‘Battle of the Fans.’
