Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Charges Against Chenango County Man

On October 19, 2018 at approximately 2:15 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Kody B. Weidman, age 29 of New Berlin, NY for the felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree and the misdemeanors of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree and Failure to Use an Interlock Device. He was also issued traffic tickets.

Troopers observed Weidman commit a traffic violation while at the intersection of State Route 20 and State Route 8 in Bridgewater. Weidman attempted to elude troopers by turning into a driveway and turning off his headlights. An investigation yield several grams of suspected cocaine. He was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Bridgewater Court on November 5, 2018.
