"Town & Gown Gala" on November 9th at Foothills Performing Arts Center, is a free community event for all ages with an important goal: to bring the Oneonta community together (especially the college students and the city residents), raise money for a SUNY Oneonta student who was critically injured in an altercation in September, and to educate the community on various social issues relating to the downtown Oneonta party scene. This event was organized by City Council Member Mike Lynch and Kaler Carpenter, Pastor of The Redemption Movement.

It may be a involve serious issues but it promises to be a very fun and entertaining event featuring performances by local musicians Sunshine Symphony, KJ & Sky, and Heaven’s Back Door, as well as poetry readings from the SUNY Oneonta Slam Poetry Team. There will be several community and student groups represented with tables that share information and provide carnival-style games for kids.  It runs from 3pm to 5pm in Foothills production room.
