Paul Harvey

This week marks the anniversary of the death of broadcast legend Paul Harvey (1918-2009). I had never heard of Paul Harvey until I started at WDOS in 1989.  His 3-minute morning commentary piece was a bit odd sounding to me, with dramatic pauses, high pitched squeals and perfectly pronounced grammar...

The late radio broadcaster Paul Harvey was already on the air when I arrived at WDOS in 1989.  For twenty years I would flip the switch at 11:50 a.m. on WDOS and his Paul Harvey News would drift out over the airwaves. He died in 2009 at the age of 91...
