The Otsego County IDA yesterday voted 8-0 to approve a payment-in lieu of taxes agreement with Newman Development group of the Hillside Commons project on Blodgett Drive. The 15-year tax abatement calls for the developers to pay a little over $92,000 in taxes in the first year...

The Otsego County IDA held a public hearing Wednesday at the Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center in Oneonta to continue discussions on the proposed tax abatement for the Newman Development Group, the developer of Hillside Commons.

The City of Oneonta Planning Commission will meet tonight to continue its review of the Environmental Assessment Form for the proposed Hillside Commons.

The city of Oneonta planning commission will be busy tonight as they take a look at two issues. First up at 6 p.m., the planners will review five special use permits for fraternities and sororities. Then, at 7 p.m. their attention will turn to a Hillside Commons public hearing.

The Oneonta Common Council approve the tax abatement plan, 7-1, for Newman Development Group, which is proposing to build a 300-bed student housing complex on Blodgett Drive.

The application for the Hillside Commons project in Oneonta is complete. This is the ruling the Oneonta Planning Board made last night after the city’s consultant on the application, Delaware Engineering, said that all the necessary documents had been submitted.

The city of Oneonta planning commission will meet again May 1 to discuss the Hillside Commons application.
