Two SUNY Oneonta students working on a biology internship this summer end up making a rare discovery. According to the college Alexa Platt and Lauren Saggese, were performing research in the Susquehanna River near the Cooperstown Dam when they discovered a 12-inch American eel which are normally found in ocean waters. The discovery here is around 440 miles from the ocean which is the farthest the species has been recorded to have traveled in decades.
