The results are in from the New York State's STOP-DWI enforcement campaign over the Independence Day weekend.According to New York Police, a total of 10,435 tickets were issued during routine patrols, the use of sobriety checkpoints, and underage drinking policing. 240 people were arrested for DWI. The numbers this year were slightly lower from 2016. During the period from July 1-4 there were just over 150 accidents resulting in three deaths and nearly 250 people injured.
