State Unemployment Drops as Private Sector Jobs Rise

According to the state department of labor, New York State added 14,100 private sector jobs in March.

The job growth resulted in New York reaching an all-time high private sector job count of more than 7.4 million.

New York’s unemployment rate also fell from 8.4 to 8.2 percent between February and March.

In upstate, the rate fell from 7.9 to 7.7 percent.
