A 38 year old Sidney man was arrested by Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.  Investigators following a sting operation and the execution of a search warrant on a vehicle on Delaware Avenue in the Village Sidney early Thursday afternoon. The Search Warrant was obtained following a month long investigation conducted by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, Village of Sidney Police Department, Delaware County Probation Department and City of Oneonta Police Department, that focused on heroin trafficking in and around the Village of Sidney and City of Oneonta. Richard Swislosky was charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and 9 counts of first degree Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. Swislosky is accused of possessing a quantity of heroin with the intent to sell it to another individual. He is further accused of possessing nine counterfeited U.S. $20.00 bills. Sheriff’s Investigators seized a quantity of heroin, a color printer/copier that was allegedly utilized for counterfeiting the money and the vehicle that Swislosky was driving Thursday afternoon. Swislosky was also in possession of a New York State Public Assistance Benefit card at the time of arrest. Swislosky was arraigned in the Village of Sidney Court on the charges and was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail pending further court action.
