The village of Sidney has submitted more than 130 flood prone homes for demolition or elevation. The submission is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA] buyback project which is 100 percent voluntary for homeowners which means they are not forced to give up their homes. Homeowners affected by the plan met in the Sidney High school auditorium recently to learn about the program. This will be the 4th round of Applications sent to FEMA for help. The first three applications have been approved and funded.
