Seward Proposes Flood Recovery Plan
State Senator James Seward is among a group of six senators working on a flood recovery plan.
Seward says the Senate is taking on its own plan which would help victims of floods when federal government money falls short.
The idea is to build better protection from floods, make response times from emergency response teams faster, and insure financial resources are available. The Senate plan would be in effect for small-scale damage like what happened earlier this year in the Mohawk Valley when FEMA funds do not cover repairs.
The plan will go to the floor for a vote in the 2014 session.
