Second Body Found Inside Burned Walton Residence

State Police along with Walton Police are continuing to investigate a suspicious fire in Walton that led to the discovery of two bodies.

State Police responded to a suspicious fire in Walton on Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival, they found Walton Police Chief Brian Laauser and senior investigator Karl Vagts. The two officers said they had heard two shots being fired inside the residence and responded to find a deceased female on the 2nd floor.

They then had to exit the residence, which was on fire. When the investigation continued Wednesday, a 2nd body was found in the basement. The two sets of remains were sent to Lourdes Hospital for identification.

As the investigation continues, State Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 607-561-7400. All calls are confidential.
