A rally to save second amendment rights brought about 100 people to Norwich to protest New York’s SAFE Act on Saturday.

Many speakers took the podium to express their thoughts on the legislation. Assemblyman Cliff Crouch spoke of a person’s constitutional right to bear arms and it’s a right they don’t want to lose.

Other speakers told the gathering that the SAFE Act does nothing to stop criminals from obtaining guns, but instead restricts law abiding citizens from having guns.

The New York State Rifle and Pistol Association is leading a lawsuit against New York State to overturn the SAFE Act.
