Sales Tax Collections Are Up

State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office released figures for sales tax collections in the first 6 months of 2018 and across the state revenue was up 6 percent from 2017 at $8.5 billion. Collections in Otsego County were up 4.4 percent, Delaware County saw a 1.7 percent increase and Chenango County revenue was up 9.15 percent. In Norwich which imposes its own sales tax instead of opting to receive a share of what their county collects revenue was up 12.7 percent.
