The Preferred Mutual Foundation has awarded scholarships to two, local, high school students graduating in 2016. Candidates were evaluated based on their academic strengths, intellectual inquiry, responsibility, community involvement, and demonstrated capacity to excel. As the first place winner of the 2016 Preferred Mutual Foundation Scholarship, Cooperstown senior Alexandra Russo will receive $2,500 each year for four years. Russo will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall. Dana Eschler of Edmeston School will receive $1,000 each year for four years and will be attending the Rochester Institute of Technology.
