Police Charge Oneonta’s MacCracken With Selling Oxycodone Powder

Oneonta resident Luke John MacCracken, 21, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by investigators for allegedly selling oxycodone powder last fall, in addition to last year’s arrest following a drug raid on a Wells Bridge stash house.

MacCracken is presently in the Otsego County correctional facility on $25,000 bail from the previous raid that found oxycodone powder, money and weapons in a stash house. The raid was conducted as part of “Operation Gold Rush” last fall.

MacCracken was arrested on a the second charge Wednesday following joint narcotics investigation involving the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Drug Enforcement Administration’s Albany district office, Albany DEA Tactical Diversion Squad and the Oneonta Police Department.

He was arraigned by the Otsego Town Judge Gary Kuch and remanded back to the Otsego County correctional facility on an additional $25,000 bail.

If convicted, MacCracken faces an additional nine years in prison. Further arrests are expected in the case.
