Oxford Man Charged With Attempted Murder and Robbery: Updates

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office have arrested an Oxford man in connection with the robbery and attempted murder of his former girlfriend.

The victim, identified as 39-year-old Lucinda Knoll of the Town of Norwich, was transported to Wilson Hospital where she was treated for serious head trauma.

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested the victim’s former boyfriend, 48-year-old William H. Danielson, in connection with the assault.

Danielson was arraigned in Chenango County Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail. He is to reappear in the Town of Norwich Court on January 2, 2014.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who was in the area of Maple Grove Trailer Park around 6 a.m. on December 27th who may have seen any suspicious activity to please call at 607-337-1921 or 607-337-1863.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by members of the City of Norwich Police Department and by members of the New York State Police.

Update #2: According to the Chenango County District Attorney's office the charges have been changed. Danielson will be arraigned at 12:30pm  today (12/30/13) at the Town of Norwich court on a charge of murder in the second degree. Previously the charges were attempted murder (second degree) and robbery (first degree).
