Otsego and Delaware County Sheriff’s Collaborate on Training

The Otsego and Delaware County Sheriff’s Departments combined forces last week for a special in-service training program. Instructors from both agencies collaborated and developed a training package specifically designed to improve its department’s proficiency. Reality based training scenarios served as the foundation for drills that tested the participants under stress while educating them in skills specific to de-escalation, situational awareness, use of force and survival medical care. A similar training program is being planned for this fall.
