Oneonta’s Most Offended Illegal Turn

Every time I head out of the radio station after work, I witness at least one vehicle making an illegal left from Wall Street in Oneonta onto Chestnut Street.  Have you done this? Perhaps you have never noticed the sign posting this illegal maneuver?  You're not alone. Apparently many drivers are either not seeing it or are choosing to ignore it.  I suspect that most people just haven't noticed it yet.  The sign is on the small side and hasn't always been there.  I think I noticed it about a year ago.  My memory is a bit fuzzy on when I first saw it but it was only put up within the last year or two.

Personally, I think that sign was long overdue considering that most of the time, it is very difficult if not impossible to see oncoming traffic and therefore dangerous if you're turning left from Wall onto Chestnut.  Considering all the cars I see making that illegal turn everyday, I'm surprised I haven't witnessed an accident yet.  Don't let that be you!
