Winners have been chosen!  The City of Oneonta’s Commission on Community Relations and Human Rights has been taking nominations for the Women's Trailblazer Award.  This award, in honor of March being "Women In History Month" seeks to highlight women in our community who have ‘blazed the trail,’ making a path for other women to follow, going where women have not gone before.

According to a news release, this year's winners are Carla Balnis and Luisa Montanti as the 2017 “Over-25” recipients of the Women’s Trailblazer Award. Judy Morales was chosen as the “25 and Under” winner.

Tonight, you can join in celebrating these women and what they have given back to the community with a public reception beginning at 6:30 pm. in the lobby of Oneonta City Hall.  Following that at 7 p.m., Mayor Gary Herzig will present a proclamation to each of the winners.

For more information on the award and this year’s recipients, please call Ms. Joyce Miller, Chair, Commission on Community Relations and Human Rights at 432.8751.
