Motorists and residents are reminded that the City of Oneonta has a snow emergency ordinance that requires all vehicles to be off the city streets when an accumulation of 2 ½ inches or more of snow has fallen.  Vehicles that are left on the street are subject to ticket and tow at the owners expense.

Notification of a snow emergency will be made via all local media outlets at the time of issuance. In addition the City of Oneonta has a service that will alert those who sign up by text message on their cell phone.  Sign up to receive a text message when snow emergency information is announced.  Text “SNOWTOW” to 888777 for updates.
