Join the community this Saturday in the Out of the Darkness Walk at the Oneonta Moose Lodge in Oneonta, NY. The walk will begin at 9 a.m. and run until about 11 a.m.

When you walk, you are helping to raise awareness and funds to aid the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). They will invest in conducting research, educating the public, and supporting survivors affected by suicide loss. At the fundraiser, there will be a huge Chinese Auction along with a 50/50 raffle. Other drawings will include gift certificates from local businesses, retail stores and restaurants. Drawings will begin at 1 p.m.

Participants can show support by walking with sponsors, being a sponsor, donating an item for auction, making a personal donation and more. Online registration will close Friday at noon. Anyone can register in person on Saturday before the start of the walk. The AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025, thanks to all walkers and donors.
