New York State Police arrested a 34 year old Oneonta man Saturday afternoon for the class D felony of 2nd degree criminal mischief and the misdemeanor of resisting arrest and the violation of disorderly conduct. The arrest of Corey Maraglio occurred after a trooper had just finished gassing up his marked patrol vehicle and was sitting at the gas station pumps on State Route 23, in the Town of Oneonta. The trooper says he observed a man walking towards the passenger side window of his patrol vehicle, so he rolled it down and asked if he could assist. According to the trooper, Maraglio suddenly opened the door and jumped into the passenger seat and appeared to be in a drug induced state refusing to get out of the patrol vehicle when first ordered. When Maraglio did get out, the trooper handcuffed him behind the back and placed him in the front seat and then drove to the parking lot and stopped. The trooper says Maraglio became very aggressive and struck his head twice on the patrol vehicle computer screen breaking it. Maraglio was arraigned in the Town of Oneonta court and was remanded to the Otsego County jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.
