Oneonta Man Arrested for Criminal Sexual Act

The Oneonta Police Department on Monday arrested 62 year old Maxie Godfrey of Oneonta for first degree Criminal Sexual Act stemming from an incident that occurred on January 19th.

Godfrey is accused of using forcible compulsion to engage in specific sexual acts with another person.

Godfrey is currently being held at the Otsego County Correctional Facility on other related charges and is scheduled to reappear at a later date. If convicted the defendant could be sentenced to a maximum of 25 years’ incarceration.
