The City of Oneonta will soon be eligible to apply for a federal grant to replace their aging bus fleet.

Paul Patterson, Director of Transportation for the City of Oneonta, says this is is something the city has to go through every ten to twelve years:

Patterson says the Nova bus was in Oneonta Monday for a demonstration. Nova is manufactured in Plattsburg, and has a low floor design without a lift that better accommodates wheel chairs, walkers, and seniors without the need for entry steps. It is available with natural gas engines.

Patterson says this could very well be the style of bus that the City of Oneonta will select for bus replacement in the 2015-16 grant cycle.
