New York is handing out $10 million in grants to support emergency response operations. Montgomery County was awarded just over $148,000 while Fulton County gets a $220,000 grant. Schoharie County is given nearly $120,000. The money will go to both day-to-day expended and for technology upgrades including text-messaging which is offered by half of the state’s counties. The program started in 2010.
