After nearly a century it’s the end of business for Skillin’s Jewelers in Norwich after its owner decided it’s time to retire. John Skillin opened the store in 1921 on American Avenue in Norwich and it is now run by his grandson Hal Skillin who says he’s reached the point in his life where it’s time to move onto another chapter. Skillin says the store will officially close the day before Mother’s Day.
